It has been a while since I have posted anything on this blog. Not sure why. Probably mostly because I am not even sure if anyone is reading it! So- if you do read this, PLEASE post a comment, so I know whether or not it is being seen or not. Thanks!
So, the holidays came and went for us. It was rushed, sickly and now it is a new year. Thankfully, none of our sons aquirred the long lasting illness that Ron and I endured! It started out as a 102 degree fever, and by the next day, had us feeling week and ill. It morphed from this into a harsh cold that included congestion in the chest and head, coughing, and extremely sore throats. Ron finally went to the doctor after the New Year, and got a steroid shot for the inflamation in his air passages. He is feeling better now, and so am I. But, the whole thing lasted from Decemebr, 21st, until proabably today! I hope none of you catch this ugly virus!
So, I just updated my other blog as well, http://americanwomannow.weebly.com/- I hope you can get the chance to go and read it. I have posted a few of my blessings, as I think we all forget to count them and tend to look only at out miseries, because as the news believes, "it sells!" :) But, perhaps with the turn of the year, we can try "to sell" the good things in our lives. What do you think?

On vacation!
What a summer of fun! I am not in education mode- so am able to relax for the first time in years! It is great!!
Right now I am visiting my sister in Everette, WA. It is warm, sunny, and BEAUTIFUL!! I am also meeting my two new neices for the first time. They are precious!
Mid June, we took a family vacation for aweek, and went to a cabin in GA. It was warm and beaeutiful as well. But, my roots bring me back to the Pacific Northwest today, where I am relaxing, smelling, and breathing in the life of life! I only wish my sweet husband were with me to enjoy it... but alas- he has to work- so I can play...
Joyfully though, my 6 year-old son is with me, and enjoying all the cousins and the aunts and uncles. So- I will go now and finsih enjoying it all! Have a wonderful day!

Another day at work and home!
Well- I am working on putting together a collection of photos that I took. I am entering them in a calandar competion in my area. It would be fun to see some of my work in calander form around the county. I am using Adobe Photoshop to simply change them from a RGB 72 photo, to a CMYK 300 photo. It makes the file size considerable larger, so I cannot email them in. I will have to send them a CD. I am including additional files of the same photo in TIF, JPG and Photoshop PSD form, as well.
I have been able to do all of it at home, on my home desktop, while I manage my wonderful 6 year-old who is on summer vacation.
I love Photoshop- Photos, and creating with this marvelous software. I also use a plethera of additional software packages for other projects, but photos seem to be my main fun- so away I go!

Walking into a Dear
I'm still here, but very few people seem to like to come and vist a blog that is not a myspace blog or facebook- I guess it is the simplicity factor or something. Or- it could be that people are reading, but not leaving comments. Whichever the case, I will keep bloging and perhaps someday, my comment will be of some use to someone.
Yesterday was Memorial Day. My family spent it going hiking at a popular nearby park. As we walked back to our car, we came around a corner and almost ran straight into a dear! I think we were both surprised (us and the dear- a huge, beautiful Doe), and we stood perfectly still while I snapped as many pictures as I could get. The dear looked at us curiously, bent down to eat some grass, and then after about 20 seconds, it finally jumped off into the woods. It was a rare moment when we all held our breath at the same time.
Many times we have been near wild animals that have been raised in captivity- such as in parks or zoos. In these surroundings, it is not unusually to be near animals such as a dear. However, this was in the real wild- in the woods- while hiking. It was a true nature adventure!

Organizing my production space
Tuesday- and with it sun and fun...
Yeah right. Although it is sunny and beautiful outside, I am indoors, cleaning and trying to organize my once school/production office. Now I want to turn it into strickly a production office. Hmm. The challenge is to incorporate all the things I need to do my job/fun, and not have the space feel over-crowded. It is a long thin room, with a beautiful window. I think I will have to re-think the shelf situation. I need a really comparable "trading spaces" makeover -or something- to really have a good idea of what to do here. I may be a designer, and I can put colors and images together, but this area of "design" (interior) is not an area I have cultivated as much as I would have liked. Perhaps this is a good starting point...hmmm... any ideas?

I'm back...sorta
The sickness is almost over! Yea!
For the past three days, I have been either at the lovely toilet, or laying on my back trying not to move. I had contracted some sort of wonderful combination of the flu, and a nasty cold. To add to the fun, diarrhea was thrown into the mix at the same time. My sweet and caring 6 year-old son was so good to me, as my husband traveled with his occupation. I tried to wear a mask though so he would not catch this ugly virus, and so far he seems okay. But today, I slept until noon, with the exception of getting up and making sure that my son made it to the bus without trouble. Now I feel a bit weak, but not nauseated anymore; and even though my nose is still a bit drainy, life is getting back to normal.
Is anyone else sick this week? Does anyone else have this ugly bug, or has had this horrific memory they would like to recall? Feel free to post it in the comment box. I can totally relate!
-I will post more when more is on my mind. I am just trying to get everything back to clean and normal around here!

Introductory blog
Welcome to the brain of Rebekah Joy Florence.
I am a designer, an artist and a mother. I am a creative left and right brained person, that strives to make the most of both halves, rather than to concentrate on one or the other. I am organized and straight forward when the needs requires it, and I am creative and free flowing as the wind, should I be found laying in the grass staring at the clouds. As a leaf is formed by GOD, so I too strive to become his reflection in my internal curves and angles of his beauty.
I am not a very dedicated daily journaler -for this form of my writings- as my life is full of many actives and entertaining events. So, don't look for me every day. However, if you check back at least weekly, you will most likely learn some very fascinating facts.
My life is life is a sequence of movies, and one day it will all be available for some very interesting reading. But, for now, this blog will have to do. My hope is that you, the reader, will be engaged to form your own thoughts and discussion from my perspective, and that you will benefit from my own trial and errors.
Enjoy, come back back, and remember- this is only day one.
